Thank you all so much for your support online and in person today at the hearing. The Mobility Plan was passed by committee unanimously, after a quite contentious discussion of some of the proposed amendments. Here's what happened:
- Mobility Plan 2035 was passed by committee and goes to full council on Tuesday, August 11.
- The two substantive amendments were: by CM Harris-Dawson to affirmatively prioritize equity during implementation and by CM Huizar to add Council as an "Implementing Agency" alongside the Mayor's Office and city departments.
- All other amendments (namely by CM Koretz to remove Westwood Blvd and by CM Cedillo to make a number of changes to the networks, increase multilingual outreach, and prioritize disadvantaged communities) were tabled for a future joint PLUM/T-Com hearing after they can be studied further.
This is a huge win and we couldn't have done it without you. Let's keep the momentum going toward implementation! Please reach out with questions/comments or if you'd like to be more involved moving forward.
Thanks!
-Eric
